Eco-Drawing Contest Earth Day Celebration!

Eco Drawing Contest Earth Day Celebration 2016

Earth Day Celebration at the Market Square!

On Friday, April 22, 2016, hundreds of local students, from elementary school to university came together to celebrate Earth Day at the Market Square in downtown St. Catharines. Building on last year’s event, Links for Greener Learning (LGL) has teamed up with Greening Niagara and the Niagara Sustainability Initiative to make this year’s event a celebration to remember. Kaptain Leaf and Kiddo Magazine have joined again this wonderful team to celebrate Earth Day.
The theme of this year’s event was “Celebrate Earth Day Every Day”. Kaptain Leaf is presenting the ECO-DRAWING CONTEST.

We learned about water, farming, planting, recycling, waste management, live walls, solar control energy efficiency, composting and much more. Thank you to all participating agencies. We enjoyed the picture taken with our green superhero. Our Kaptain Leaf also presented the ECO-DRAWING CONTEST. The jury had a hard time choosing the winners. Every drawing was colorful and unique, but most important; all of them giving us a great green message to learn and share. We had three winners, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and one special mention to the most creative drawing. Congratulations to all. Click below, to check our gallery and the winners on our Facebook page!!!
